There a few different options to manage email permissions and it depends if you want to follow a closed or open email policy in terms of visibility within the company.  For reference below the permission to only see email headers means you can see the sender, recipients, and subject line but not the body of the email. Follow is a summary of the permissions applicable to each Magnetic user role.

User

  • Can view their own emails.
  • Can see emails explicitly associated with public jobs.

Company Manager
  • Can view their own emails.
  • Can see emails explicitly associated with public jobs.
  • If not set to manage any user then can see email headers of the company.
  • If set to manage users then can only see email headers of users you are managing.

Company Admin

  • If not set to manage any user then can see all emails of the company.
  • If set to manage users then can see emails of users you are the admin of.

Now you want to have an open email policy within the company or teams but are concerned about private emails you receive for example from your bank or family. For this, we have the option of blacklisting these email addresses. When an email address is blacklisted it will be automatically hidden from the company. There are two types of blacklists shown below. These can be configured from your personal settings page.

Global email black list

  • Any email sent from this address to anyone in the company is automatically hidden.
  • Use this to block out any mailing list email addresses that your company get lots of mail from or bank notifications.

Personal email black list

  • Any email sent from this address to only you will be automatically hidden.
  • Use this to block out email from your family.

Below is an example of what a global and personal email blacklist looks like:
